From the ancient past to our modern times, the Kukui Nut,
or jewel nut, is something special to behold and possess. According to our
Hawaiian traditions, to wear one is a mark of rank, one of great importance.
Back in the majestic days of the Hawaiian monarchy, Kukui Nut leis were worn only
by royalty (Ali'i). Today, you can celebrate the love and respect you share for
each other as you join your hearts and lives together during your special
occasion with the giving and receiving of Kukui Nut leis.
Each Kukui Nut is selected for quality and appearance,
handcrafted, polished and sanded. Each piece has a distinctive character
of its own, for no two are exactly alike as to color, size and luster.
Fashioned and designed in this unique lei, you can not only own a piece of
Hawaiian tradition and culture and wear it, but take great pride in the
memory of your romantic ceremony for many
years to come. Priced at $10 each; hand-painted leis are $15 each.
Length varies
27-34 inches. Many types of seeds, shells and carved beads add a
distinctive touch of color and style to your lei. Quantity discounts
available on request.
To keep the luster of this Kukui Nut lei, you can lightly
massage a little baby oil or cocoa butter onto each Kukui Nut until its
luster is restored. The following is a sampling.... |
