About Florentino & Isabelle
Florentino Guizar and Isabelle Kay have been dancing all their lives. She has an extensive formal dance and body movement background in Ballet, Modern, Post Modern, African, Afro-cuban, Jazz, Yoga and Pilates. He has an extensive folk, social dancing, and teaching background in Mexican Folk, Bossa Nova, Danzon, Boleros, cumbias, Salsa, Rancheras, Tex-mex, Merengue, Axé and Samba.
They have each danced Tango for almost seven years, and have been dancing and teaching together for more than three years.
At University of California at San Diego (UCSD), they developed and refined an approach to teaching Tango that gives students the tools to move with balance, fluidity and confidence, to effectively connect with their partner, and to create their own dance. In addition, Isabelle co-developed and taught a course on follower's technique- Tango Essence.
Both attest to the value of refining your dance technique through private and group classes. . They have taken classes from locally from Ive Simmard and others as well as some of the best well-known teachers and dancers including among them:

Florentino and Isabelle were recently featured on the UCTV broadcast of "Tango! - A Concert To Benefit The Lytle Scholarship" where they danced to the music of master bandoneon player, Coco Trivisonno.
In June 2005, Florentino & Isabelle came to Hawaii to teach "Tango Concepts", which emphasizes the basic elements and technique that professionals, advanced dancers and even beginning Argentine Tango dancers continually work on to improve their dancing. The focus of Tango Concepts is to make you aware of how argentine Tango is danced, to help you develop the physical skills necessary to properly execute Tango movements, and work with you to master the Tango concepts so that they are your own. Through the Tango Concepts approach, you can learn to lead/follow any Tango dancer and to improvise on the Tango dance floor or Milonga. We hope they will return to Hawaii in the near future.
